Start of 2016 season Down Under.

Start of 2016 season Down Under.

The 2016 season is underway!! After 3 great weeks back home I’m already on the road again back in my favourite country: Australia! In January I played on the ALPGA (the Australian Tour) playing 6 pro-ams. I had some good results finishing 7th, 5th, 10th, 3rd, 33rd and 35th.

The last tournament finishing of the ALPGA was the Oates Victorian Open, the field was good with a lot of LET players coming over. I started a bit rusty shooting +2 and +3 to make the weekend. In the weekend I played a lot better shooting -5 and -4 to climb all the way up to T6! In the end I had a great tournament and went with great expectations to New Zealand.

Unfortunately I had a complete off day during the first round of the LET season in New Zealand, Christchurch. Although a good second round I missed the cut. The good news was I got a spot in the LPGA Australian Open the next week because of my good results and 3rd place on the ALPGA ranking!

I travelled down to Adelaide the next week to play in my first LPGA event. I was a bit more nervous that I normally was being it the Australian Open being played at a great golfcourse the Grange GC. I fought hard shooting +2 and +3 but that was unfortunately 2 shots too many to make the cut. My game improved a lot after last week and I was looking forward to a great last tournament in Queensland.

The RACV ladies Masters was played again on the Royal Pines resort, the course I had great memories with making my first cut there last year. After opening with -3 and +1 I had a great position going into the weekend. A though 3rd day with a lot of strong wind gusts made play hard, the best I could do was +5 for the day.. Happily my lowest round of my stretch Down Under was the 4th round shooting a 67(-6) to finish T12. A great way to finish here!

All by all is was a long 8 weeks away from home, but I had a amazing time traveling a lot with Fabienne and staying in 6 different housing families. I met a lot of great people and made some good memories. I can’t wait to come back again next year!!
